Le Titanic en 3D dans Google Maps

A l’occasion de la commémoration des 100 ans du naufrage du Titanic, le 15 avril 1912, Google propose une modélisation 3D du célèbre paquebot. Pour cela, il suffit d’aller dans Google Maps (choisir la vue Earth et installer le plug-in si vous ne l'avez pas) ou le logiciel Google Earth, et de taper Titanic dans le moteur de recherche.

Le Titanic repose au fond de l’océan. Il faudra donc « plonger » avec la molette de votre souris pour voir les restes du navire. La modélisation 3D montre clairement la déchirure laissée par l’iceberg sur le côté tribord avant de la coque. Dommage, il est impossible de visiter l'intérieur du navire comme dans un jeu vidéo... En revanche, on peut voir quelques photos prises lors de la découverte de l’épave. A noter aussi : l'affichage dans Google Earth est plus complet qu'avec Google Maps car on accède aussi à des vidéos d'une plongée sur la célèbre épave.
