L'ONT authentification ca sert a quoi

Bonjour, à quoi ça sert l'ONT authentification dans la connexion à la fibre et est-ce qu'il faut un mot de passe LOID (xxf44xxxxxx) comme dans les vidéos sur youtube ?  Les techniciens d'AT m'ont dit que ce n'est pas la peine y'a une erreur de localisation le voyant PON clignote merci d'avance
